Our Story

The Pink House Foundation supports LGBTQIA+ organisations and spaces that allow Queer youth to find their sanctuary, discover community and let the walls they’ve built crumble until only their truest selves remain.

For founder Sam Smith, the Pink House was their real home in the English countryside.

It was more than just a place to live - it was a space of total warmth and love, and most importantly - somewhere they felt safe enough to find their voice and passions and discover who they were.

Today, Sam wants to help more Queer youth around the world find that same sense of safety and belonging, because everyone deserves their own Pink House.

Our Mission

The Pink House Foundation's mission is to help create a world where LGBTQIA+ people can live openly, discover who they are and find the people, places and opportunities that help them thrive. We believe young people deserve to be supported unconditionally and aim to offer resources for families, friends and allies of the community in search of understanding and connection to their Queer loved ones.

Our Work

We’re proud to support and partner with organisations changing Queer lives every day.

akt’s mission is to ensure every LGBTQIA+ 16–25-year-old facing homelessness or a hostile living environment has a safe place to live. The Pink House Foundation’s grant will strengthen and scale akt’s expert-led, trauma-informed digital chat helpline, a vital national service for homeless LGBTQIA+ young people at a time when other services face cuts or closures.

The Ali Forney Centre was selected by The Pink House Foundation as the beneficiary of all donations collected during Sam Smith’s Warsaw, Brooklyn residency, with funds supporting its Model Replication Programme. This work helps organisations around the world provide safe spaces for at-risk LGBTQ+ youth through programme support, community building and education.

Courage+ is on an ambitious journey to increase its residential capacity for young unhoused LGBTQIA+ people while expanding its transitional living programme, providing safe shelter, affirming care and comprehensive support services. The Pink House Foundation’s grant will enable Courage+ to create a sensory room on site, a much-needed therapeutic space for its service users.

Manos Amigues is Mexico City’s first LGBTQ+ community centre, creating a place where care, creativity and community come together. From communal meals for people facing vulnerability or emergencies, to art, workshops and gatherings, their work turns everyday acts of care into connection and new possibilities for Queer youth in their community.

Stonewall Housing has supported LGBTQIA+ people facing homelessness for over 40 years, providing specialist housing advice, advocacy and support, with expertise in mental health, domestic abuse, substance use and supported accommodation. The Pink House Foundation will support its work with a group that is consistently underrepresented and underserved: older LGBTQIA+ people.
